Sly Fox Escape Room is a thrilling adventure game that combines elements of puzzle solving, code breaking, scavenger hunts, and more! Players enter into a room and must use the elements within to escape in a set time limit of 60 minutes. Each room is themed and designed to create a completely immersive and exciting experience. As part of the story line players are trapped or “locked in” and must find clues, arrange puzzles and complete their mission before they can escape. The last puzzle solved provides the key to exit the room. Sly Fox Escape Room is the first and only escape room in Dutchess county, New York!

Pretty cool, right? We also worked on a few games that had people buy tickets for the right to change our oil, clean our house, and mow our lawn, but they didn’t take… Hmm… In any case, if you’ve never experienced a Sly Fox Escape Room you are in for a real treat that will be one of the FASTEST and MOST FUN 60 minutes of you’re life! And if you’re not satisfied after, we promise we’ll let you mow our lawn 100% free of charge!

Okay okay. Kidding aside, like we said earlier. Sly Fox Escape Room is an interactive experience that’s part puzzle game and part live-action entertainment. In this case you’re the star of the show. We’ve crafted rooms with special themes and props and given each a different story line. You’re “locked in” the room and need to solve clues and find hidden secrets to unlock the door to get back out. Each game has a one hour time limit, giving you 60 minutes to earn your freedom. You can do it. We know you can. Good luck!

Alright, alright. In a word, “No.” Since the safety of our customers is our #1 priority, you’re not locked in and you absolutely do have a way out. In addition to there being plenty of safety provisions, the rooms are monitored via closed circuit television by a one of our game masters with a number of additional exit precautions built in. While the idea of being “locked in with no way out” plays to the experience and adds to the excitement of the theme, you’re able to step out of the room whenever you’d like. We do encourage you to fully immerse yourself in the game and follow the narrative of the story. Should an emergency occur, you can easily exit the room, however at this point the game ends for all players involved and the experience is over.

Well now, how much time do you have? Individuals and groups of virtually all ages and backgrounds will love Sly Fox Escape Room. We’re great for friends, co-workers, family outings, corporate team building events, non-profit fundraisers, date night, birthday parties, sports clubs, school classes, church groups, special celebrations, butcher’s, bakers, candlestick makers… you name it! From young to young at heart and from people to foxes, we’re the perfect fit for everyone.

Here at the Sly Fox, we operate a bit differently from most escape rooms in the United States. While most U.S. escape rooms operate “public rooms” that sell as many tickets as possible, pack people in like sardines and place strangers together, we believe in providing the best experience possible for our customers. For us, this means allowing you to spend your escape room experience with friends, family, or those you chose to spend the day or night out with. Unless otherwise designated for a special event, our rooms are private bookings and you’ll only be placed in a game with those in your party.

Mmm…. Only that you’re going to have fun you’ll be hooked after you finish. There’s nothing special you need to bring with you, only your desire to have a great time. Bring comfortable clothing, and especially comfortable shoes. You’ll receive a simple briefing and explanation from one of our game masters when you arrive. Please arrive 10-15 minutes early so you can sign our waiver, use the restroom and try out some sample puzzles in our lobby.

We’ll have a spot for you to leave your jackets, hats and other clothing and belongings outside in our lobby.

Should you be unwilling to part with some of your personal items, including that oh so precious cell phone, you can bring them in with you so long as you follow the golden rule. We’ll have a container in each room for you to leave your keys and phones in. Okay it’s time to get super serious now… ::Cue serious voice:: …  Cell phones may not be taken out or used for any reason whatsoever during the game. Serious. Like super serious. ::Is our serious voice coming through?::

In addition the use of any electronics, such as cell phones, cameras, recording devices or anything similar is not allowed. Our goal is to ensure every customer gets to experience the adventure without having a puzzle or clue ruined for them. Taking pictures or recording audio or video is not permitted for any reason and if we observe you using an electronic device, our game master will promptly stop the game and no refunds will be given. Sad face… So come on, don’t make us be the bad guys and bad foxes and please follow the rules!

Since all games are “private rooms” your group has booked in full, you’re free to bring in individuals of all ages. The Sly Fox is a family friendly activity, so everyone is welcome. Do keep in mind though that each individual entering the room does require a ticket and that includes children of all ages, shapes, sizes, heights, weights, eye color, sneaker brand, jumping ability, and superhero preference. (This is a trick question, everyone knows Batman is the best superhero).

While there is no minimum age required to play, there will most likely be a cutoff when a child can engage with and understand the puzzles. In order to provide the highest experience possible we recommend children be at least 8 years old to fully grasp the experience, with above most children needing to be over 10. While you’re certainly welcome to bring in a small child or infant into the room, we do change for everyone entering. We do require children under the age of 16 to be accompanied by at least one adult in the room. If you’ve got a large family and are looking for cost effective options, we recommend checking us out on one of our less busy days. (Details coming soon).

We ask you to arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled game time to make sure you get the best experience possible. Remember it’s better to be 15 minutes early than 1 minute late. You’ll need to sign our game waiver and use the restroom if needed. The games is planned to start promptly at the time assigned to make sure all players receive the full experience they paid for. As tickets cannot be re-sold, there are no refunds if you’re late or don’t show up. Since all games are private rooms, we’re may be able to wait a teeny, tiny, little bit, after your game is scheduled to start if some members of your party have still not arrived. However since we have another game starting after yours with a group that’s already paid for their booking, we do need to keep to the schedule and at 10 minutes past your game time, we’ll have to start the game with those present or unfortunately cancel your game without a refund.

Each game’s time will depend on how quickly you can escape, (if you can escape, mwuahahaha… ahem… sorry… force of habit.) You should plan for approximately 90 minutes total for early arrival, pre-game briefing, up to a 60 minute game, and game master end walk through (if you want it). And of course, pictures!

Our game sizes vary per room and require a minimum of two people per booking, though we recommended four. Some games are capped at four people while others are capped at eight. Why do we cap our games you may ask?… Go ahead… ask it….? Seriously ask us…………

So glad you asked! We’ve played other escape rooms before that cram in as many people as possible. As a business we’re not shy our goal is to make money, (Do you know how expensive pipes and Sherlock Holmes costumes specially made for foxes are?!) However we never want our profit to come at the expense of your enjoyment. You can only experience an escape room for the first time, once after all. And we want your experience to be a great one in which you never feel packed together We can tell you from experience that’s no fun for the player. We make sure the room is not too overcrowded and everyone has a good time by keeping the group size within a certain level.

If your group has more people than will fit in a room, please contact us. We offer options for private parties and specially tailored games.

Most definitely. Our games have limited space, specified start time and must be booked in advance. All bookings must be made via our website at least one hour before start time. Reservations are taken and paid for via this website and you’ll be sent an immediate email confirmation. Remember that because this is a live-action puzzle game, once a spot is sold and the game time passes, it’s going, going, gone! We recommend against walking in and seeing if there’s a spot available. Our fox detectives are usually busy solving cases and they’d direct you to check out the website anyway.

As this is a live activity with a limited number of spots, all sales are final upon purchase. Remember the game starts SHARPLY at the time indicated on your ticket as we’ll have another game starting after yours. Once the door closes and locks, no one is permitted to enter. However if you contact us at least 72 hours prior to your game, we may be able to reschedule your group into a game in the future at no additional cost. We understand things happen and we want your experience at the Sly Fox to be a good one.

The Sly Fox Escape room is a premium entertainment experience with attention paid to creating solid puzzles and an immersive environment. We’ve priced our tickets competitively with escape rooms nationwide and we’re slightly less expensive than most escape rooms in the New York metro area. A ticket is $27 plus applicable New York state sales tax. Sorry, we can’t do anything about that government sales tax part, (Don’t blame me, I voted for Kodos). We do not charge any processing or booking fees.

Well there’s no issues for us if you’re pregnant. Give the stork a high five for us. Otherwise, our rooms are suitable for players of all abilities and they’ll test your mental functions and problem solving skills; not your ability to run, jump, or bench press. There may be some minor activity needed but nothing requiring more than a very modest amount of physical effort that roughly a 10 year old child could do. We’re located on the first floor with no stairs and are wheelchair accessible If you have a physical concern please email us to discuss your specific situation so we can make sure your Sly Fox experience is a memorable one.

We can reserve the whole place for you and give you complete privacy. We’re located close to nearly a dozen restaurants with plenty of parking.

Um, heck yea! Our rooms are perfect for parties and special events of all types! Consider bringing your group in under a regular booking or work with us to arrange our whole facility around your party. We’d love to help you create an experience to remember! We can work with you to tailor a clue, add an inside joke, or even place a special hidden message inside the room. If it’s a marriage proposal we sure hope she says, “Yes”. Otherwise that’s going to be a loooooong 60 minutes.

What do you mean IF you have an amazing time? WHEN you have an amazing time… If you escape within 60 minutes, you’ll be greeted as a conquering hero and lavished with praise from the Sly Fox team. If you don’t escape and your 60 minutes runs out you’ll still be lavished with praise for your effort. (We like praise, what can we say?)
